We don’t often associate eating disorders with babies, but it seems natural that new parents who have experienced these disorders might find themselves thinking about how to raise their children in a body-positive environment. Commissioned by art director Alla Dreyvitser, mixed-media illustrator Tara Hardy beautifully captures the emotion behind this sensitive topic for The Washington Post. By juxtaposing unexpected items, Tara’s intentional choices for her illustrations often evoke emotions. This piece does just that, creating a contrast between the joys of motherhood and the isolation of an eating disorder to continue the conversation around this internal battle that many parents may be going through.
Here is a peak at Tara’s striking conceptual work.
