Illustrator Dave Murray has been quietly creating a impressive collection of award-winning illustration for Toronto craft brewery Indie Ale House and we thought it was about time we shared some of it!
Indie Ale House owner Jason Fisher initially saw Dave's 'beer series' prints on display at a local business. Immediately drawn to the images Jason asked to be connected with Dave. Over a couple beers at a then boarded up storefront local talent and local business joined forces.
Dave has come to be the ‘resident’ illustrator handling most of the artwork for the brewery as well as menu design. Given almost complete creative control over what he produces Dave’s had the luxury to explore new arenas stylistically and push the boundaries of his characteristic style. How refreshing is that! Not one to bask in the glow of past successes for too long Dave is always trying to one-up himself with each new illustration.
Rarely does one find an illustrator who is capable of creating work in so many unique and successful styles. The Indie Ale House posters and bottle labels have allowed Dave to play with his strong graphic style, create lettering and incorporate his design abilities.
His goal is to make people stop mid-sip to look at the art. And you know what? He’s succeeded in doing just that! If you find yourself in Toronto stop by the Indie Ale House and enjoy the art work in action (and of course… the beer)!
