A massive congratulations to illustrator Thom Sevalrud, named Educator of the Year by 3x3 Magazine!

As a commercial illustrator and educator, Thom balances commissioned work with teaching at Sheridan College and OCAD University, passing on his invaluable knowledge and industry experience to his students. Encouraging students to connect with their community and really think about what kind of image-maker they want to be, Thom truly values the mentor aspect of his role the most.

Spanning more than 30 years, Thom’s illustration career has weathered the ups and downs of the industry and survived huge changes in technology. Vibrant colour palettes and geometric patterns combined with a unique use of line and texture create depth in his work. Thom’s desire to never stop learning, along with the evolution of his style over time have contributed to his phenomenal staying power.
