'Berlin' illustrated by Mark Hoffmann.

Mark Hoffmann illustrates for Middlebury Magazine

February 8, 2018

Middlebury Magazine art director Pamela Fogg acknowledged that she's admired illustrator Mark Hoffmann's work for quite some time. However, the chance to collaborate on a project is not always there...until it is! When the opportunity finally presented itself in the form of an article (comprised of two book excerpts) 'Tales of Two Cities’ i2i Art was more than happy to pair up Mark with one of our long standing clients.

Mark was tasked with incorporating well-known landmarks and more subtle nuances to create conceptual maps representing two great cities, London and Berlin. Mark's use of rustic line art combined with painterly textured areas resulted in imagery that is folksy yet contemporary. The soft color palette has just enough contrast to keep it interesting while not overpowering the carefully laid out details. Now the question remains. Which city has won your heart?
